This week's GMW-TV show aired August 15, 2002

The program opened this week with a look back at United We Slam! as GMW-TV Champ Alex Arion prevailed over Mike Steele and Maverick Wild successfully defended the GMW Championship against "Irresistible" Jonny Idol. GMW-TV host Lou Bordeaux interviewed "The Egomaniacs", who claimed that despite their individual pinfall losses, they should indeed be the TV Champion and the GMW Champion respectively. GMW Senior Official Josh LaPrell then came to ringside with a special statement that was received backstage moments earlier. LaPrell went on to tell Idol and Steele that President O' Reilly liked their matches at United We Slam so much that he was going to authorize a match for the upcoming September 14th GMW event in Lyndon Center, VT. The main event on September 14th is going to be a tag team match. Not just any tag team match, but one of "Unlikely Alliances" as Alex Arion would be teaming with Mike Steele to take on Maverick Wild and Jonny Idol! The Egomaniacs were irate to find out this latest turn of developments! Whatever you do, do not miss "Unlikely Alliances" coming to Lyndon Center, VT on Saturday September 14th at 7PM!!!

After the smoke cleared and the dust settled from that bombshell announcement, Sonny Goodspeed was set to take on "Big Daddy" Dave Walker. Walker didn't have his "A" game with him on this occasion, as Sonny was able to put the big Texan away with a schoolboy rollup for the pinfall.

A video package followed from United We Slam, looking at Mercedes Martinez becoming the inaugural GMW Women's Champion. As you know by now, that title reign lasted barely one month and Trinity H. Campbell is now the GMW Women's Champion. Announced as next week's TV Main Event, Martinez gets her rematch when she squares off with Campbell for the Women's Championship!

In this week's TV Main Event, GMW Champion Maverick Wild put his prestigious title on the line against Antonio Thomas. Over the last several weeks, Thomas has proven himself to be both a fine athlete, as well as a true friend to many of the GMW stars, as he's run in to save Maverick Wild and Mercedes Martinez among others! Wild appreciates the talents of someone like Thomas, and wanted to give him a title match on GMW-TV. In the long run, Wild's experience showed as he caught Thomas in his Wild Thing full nelson slam for the victory. In a great way to end the show this week, both men shook hands as the program came to a close.
