This week's GMW-TV show aired August 22, 2002

The program opened this week with a look back at last week's bombshell announcement when GMW Senior Official Josh LaPrell came to ringside with a special statement from GMW President Sean O' Reilly. LaPrell told The Egomaniacs that President O' Reilly liked their matches at United We Slam so much that he was going to authorize a match for the upcoming September 14th GMW event in Lyndon Center, VT. The main event on September 14th is going to be a tag team match. Not just any tag team match, but one of "Unlikely Alliances" as Alex Arion would be teaming with Mike Steele to take on Maverick Wild and Jonny Idol! The Egomaniacs were irate to find out this latest turn of developments! Whatever you do, do not miss "Unlikely Alliances" coming to Lyndon Center, VT on Saturday September 14th at 7PM!!!

This week's opening match featured "No Respect" Aaron Morrison meeting "Rock and Roll" Mark Vincent. Morrison won the match, pinning Vincent while his feet were on the ropes. Following this, we were taken back to United We Slam as Morrison was defeated by Mark Malibu, but then after the match Morrison applied his dangerous "Slipknot" to the tag team champion. Morrison then proceeded to throw the referee over the top rope before reapplying the Slipknot! Antonio Thomas then came to the defense of Malibu, clearing the ring of Morrison. Aaron was then interviewed, saying that he knows that GMW management is 100% responsible for the institutionalization of his cousin and tag partner, "Wrong Way" Johnny Royal. During this diatribe, GMW Senior Official Josh LaPrell came to ringside. LaPrell had a statement from GMW President O' Reilly. In it, O' Reilly said that Morrison has wanted a piece of the SouthEast Connection for some time. He also knew that Morrison wanted Antonio Thomas. President O' Reilly went on to say in the statement that next week's TV Main Event would be a handicap match as Aaron Morrison would take on the SouthEast Connection of Kid Mikaze and Mark Malibu as well as their partner, Antonio Thomas!

Up next, we took a look at the GMW Tag Team Champions The SouthEast Connection, who took on the newly formed combination of Flying Frankie and Radical Rob, collectively known as "The Flying Radicals". Despite the best efforts of the newcomers, Malibu forward slammed Frankie as Kid Mikaze followed up with a Senton Bomb for the pinfall victory.

This week's much anticipated TV Main Event saw Trinity H. Campbell defend her GMW Women's Championship against former champ Mercedes Martinez. This was a very close match until the referee was knocked out. At that point, Campbell went to the ringside area, where a fan (allegedly Campbell's sister!) handed off an object to Trinity! Campbell then got back in the ring and drilled Martinez right in the head with it. She then got the still groggy official to roll over and count the pinfall. Through some despicable actions, Trinity H. Campbell remains the GMW Women's Champion.

That's all for this week. Tune in again next week and catch the action of Green Mountain Wrestling!
