This week's GMW-TV show aired June 6, 2002

GMW-TV opened this week with The Egomaniacs running down just about everybody in GMW. Then they issued an open challenge to any team who wanted to step up and take a shot at the GMW Tag Team Titles. "The Dude" Mark Malibu and Kid Mikaze, collectively known as The SouthEast Connection, took advantage of this tremendous opportunity. The manager of The Egomaniacs, Scott Dickinson, was absent from ringside for this contest. It was apparent though that he has been working his champions very hard as both Idol and Steele resorted to some very aggressive tactics both inside and outside the ring. This came into play after a devastating spinebuster by Malibu on Steele. The two then spilled out of the ring, leaving Mikaze and Idol. As Idol turned to the far corner, he was met by a perfectly delivered cross body from the top rope! Kid Mikaze gained the pinfall on Jonny Idol! The SouthEast Connection are the brand new GMW Tag Team Champions!

Shortly after the match, Malibu and Mikaze were making it known that they intend to be fighting champions. They also made mention of the fact that Aaron Morrison and "Wrong Way" Johnny Royal are the #1 contenders. The SouthEast Connection alluded to the fact that they must honor some existing contractual obligations prior to Morrison and Royal getting their title shot.

This week's TV Main Event featured a 30 man, over the top rope Battle Royal with the winner getting a GMW title shot on next week's edition of GMW-TV. This one was pure chaos right from the start! The final ten men in this one were:

Johnny Royal
Reid Davenport
Mark Vincent
Alex Arion
"Big Daddy" Dave Walker
"Turbo" Tim Fury
Mean Biggie Greene
"Brutal" Bob Evans
Debonair Cruz

Cruz and "Irresistible" Jonny Idol squared off briefly as the final two combatants. Both men at one moment or another had gone over the top rope, but neither's feet hit the floor. Finally after Cruz saved himself and was about to come back into the ring, Idol caught him and snapped Cruz' head across the top rope causing him to fall to the floor. Jonny Idol is the winner, and he will get a GMW title shot on next week's edition of Green Mountain Wrestling TV!
