The action started this week with a look back at last week's match where Trinity H. Campbell won the GMW Women's Championship from Mercedes Martinez. To say controversy ruled the day is an understatement for sure, as "The Alpha Male" Justin Powers made his presence known and played a key role in Campbell's victory.
We then heard from "The Alpha Male" and his "Ultimate Female". Powers and Campbell had some disparaging remarks to make about former champ Mercedes Martinez as well as Antonio Thomas who saved her from further punishment after the title match last week. If you were tuned in you'll remember that as the program closed, Thomas and Martinez challenged Powers and Campbell to a mixed tag match. The challenge was accepted, and that's going to be the TV Main Event this week!
In the opener this week, Debonair Cruz squared off against Holyoke Joe. This was a rematch some 6 months in the making, as Joe put up a respectable effort in their previous match and was granted another shot at the high flying Cruz. Despite some solid mat wrestling, some submission moves and flat out brawling, once again Cruz came out on top in this one.
Up next was a very special challenge match for the GMW Championship. Precipitated by months of aggravating behavior (which many thought culminated at "United We Slam!") by The Egomaniacs, Maverick Wild put the belt on the line against Mike Steele. Several times during the match it looked like we'd have a new GMW Champion, but some interference from Scott Dickinson backfired as Wild caught Steele in his Wild Thing full nelson slam for the pinfall victory! Maverick Wild remains GMW Champion!
In this week's TV Main Event, a very special mixed tag team match featuring as stated earlier, Antonio Thomas and Mercedes Martinez facing off against "The Alpha Male" Justin Powers and the newly crowned GMW Women's Champion, Trinity H. Campbell. Mercedes Martinez scored the pinfall in this wild contest as she caught Campbell with a Tornado DDT from the top rope! The GMW Championship committee has to be paying attention to a result like that!
