VINDIKATION INDEED!

Wild overcomes the odds,
once again GMW Champion!

GMW Vindikation is in the books. If you missed it...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? A near capacity crowd in the Municipal Building was treated to the greatest event in the six year history of Green Mountain Wrestling. The results of Vindikation follow, but if you weren't there you can still get the special collector's copy video available from TCTapes.net.

In the opening match (taped for an upcoming edition of GMW-TV), Brian Jury, Kid Mikaze, Mark Malibu, and The Red Dragon defeated Texas Hangmen 2 and 3, "Alpha Male" Justin Powers and Big Daddy Dave Walker.

In the Slamtech Scramble, "Dangerous" Dean Eastman pinned Gary Kudalis for the Slamtech Title. The Slamtech Scramble featured six of the best up and coming stars in Green Mountain Wrestling. Two men started off in the ring, and one by one as one was defeated, the next would come out to take his best shot at the Slamtech Title.

The match started with Slamtech Champ Gary "The Torch" Kudalis and his arch rival, "Turbo" Tim Fury. These two lost no time at all in rekindling what has been a very hot feud here in GMW over the last six months. Kudalis won after hitting Fury with a foreign object. Kudalis advances.

The third participant was Mark Vincent. Kudalis again went for the foreign object. Vincent blocked The Torch, and the object went flying! A puzzled Kudalis turns right into Vincent's diamond cutter. The Torch kicked out at two and pulled a set of brass knucks from his tights. He connects with Vincent and puts him out. Two in a row for Gary the Torch!

Participant #4 is Mean Biggie Greene. Late in the match, Kudalis once again reaches for the knucks. This time Greene pulls his afro pick out of his afro right in front of the referee and gets disqualified. That's 3 for Kudalis as he now advances to meet Antonio Thomas!

Thomas, making his Newport debut, impressed the near sellout crowd with an arsenal of moves that had Kudalis reeling. Antonio missed a shoulder tackle and went through the ropes to the floor. Kudalis wisely let the referee apply the 10 count to the fallen Thomas. Gary Kudalis has made it through four wrestlers!

The final round of the inaugural Slamtech Scramble came down to Champion Gary Kudalis, and "Dangerous" Dean Eastman! Kudalis was starting to show some wear and tear by this point. When it looked as if he'd have one more cheap shot with the brass knucks, out of nowhere came Turbo Tim Fury and dropkicked Kudalis into the waiting Eastman who planted Kudalis with a sidewalk slam for the victory. Dean Eastman is the new Slamtech Champion!

Up next was the Newport Street Fight pitting Sonny & Jeff Goodspeed against "No Respect" Aaron Morrison and "Wrong Way" Johnny Royal. If for any reason you weren't at the Municipal Building for this one, do yourself a favor and click here to buy the Vindikation tape! This one literally reached to every corner of the Municipal Building! Sonny and Royal made their way to the balcony where several times it appeared that one or the other would be thrown the 20 feet or so down to the main floor. The Goodspeed's indeed got their "Vindikation" when Sonny went to the top rope and big splashed Morrison from the top. Your winners: The Goodspeeds!

The Green Mountain Wrestling Tag Team Titles were then up for grabs when The Egomaniacs, Jonny Idol and Mike Steele met Debonair Cruz and "Rocket" Fred Curry, Jr. in a best two out of three falls championship encounter. Both teams won a fall apiece in the early going. With the match tied at 1 to 1, neither team wanted to make a mistake and cost themselves the tag titles. After the referee was knocked down, everybody lost control of who the legal men in the ring were. A second referee came to help, and at that very moment, one man from each team was pinned. Both referees counted both pinfalls at the exact same time! The bell rang, but because nobody, not even the officials, knew who the legal men should have been the match was ordered to restart with the winner of the next fall gaining the coveted GMW Tag Titles! Later in the match, a slight bit of hesitation on the part of Cruz came back to haunt him as Idol and Steele applied their patented Egobuster for the pin and the victory. Cruz and Curry had some words after this one, but quickly made up and rededicated themselves to pursuing the GMW Tag Titles, next time having the Commander in Chief of Dickinson's Army, Scott Dickinson, barred from the building!

The special "I Quit" match had all the makings of a classic and Alex Arion and his nemesis "Brutal" Bob Evans delivered. You really need to get this on tape! Of course, the only way to win this one was to make your opponent say "I Quit" over the house audio system. GMW President Gary Langevin made it very clear in his "State of GMW" address back in January that there would definitely be a clear cut winner in this match. There wouldn't be any shenanigans like there have been in the past in other promotions. One of these men would say, "I Quit!" Lots of scientific holds, of course looking to torture and ultimately looking for the submission and finally the words, "I Quit". This one went all around the ringside area, finally back in the ring, Arion applied a vicious Rolling Guillotine. Alex had it locked in for a long time until referee Sean O'Reilly realized that Evans had indeed passed out from the pain of the hold! Sean went to a ringside table and got a bottle of water. When he got back in the ring, he poured the water on Evans. The liquid revived Evans almost immediately, and as soon as he came to, "Brutal" Bob Evans screamed...I QUIT!

The Main Event of Vindikation was for the GMW Championship. Champion Tarzan Taylor defending against former title holder, Maverick Wild. There were two special referees for this title match. Taylor chose his manager and former WCW official, Scott Dickinson while Wild chose GMW President Gary Langevin as his ref for the match. A coin toss prior to the match determined which ref would be in the ring, and which one would be on the outside. Dickinson won the toss and had the in-ring duties. This put Wild at a distinct disadvantage right off the bat.

Several times during the match when Maverick had Taylor down in a pinning situation, referee Dickinson would walk over to the ring apron, he'd look away or he'd just plain count slow! The cream always rises to the top and despite all this nonsense, Wild finally had Taylor right where he wanted him...in the full nelson slam! Just as he slammed Taylor to the mat, Dickinson, protecting his interests, kicked Wild with a horrible low blow! Tarzan then reversed and hit his chokeslam on Wild. When Dickinson was counting, Langevin pulled Dickinson out of the ring! Gary had enough! Dickinson went back into the ring and Langevin followed him in and Gary nailed him with a Stunner!

Taylor then grabbed Langevin as if he were going to chokeslam him, but Wild got behind Tarzan and delivered the full nelson slam. Langevin counted the pinfall, and Maverick Wild emerged as the new Green Mountain Champion!

Vindikation delivered big time! Without a doubt, the best card in the history of
Green Mountain Wrestling! Do yourself a favor and buy the tape!
